The PADI IDC is running full power in U-Dive this week. As you might imagine, Serge Fitoussi PADI Platinum Course Director and owner of U-Dive is training the 6 candidates with a lot of determination. But this time, the candidates will also have to deal with an other “PADI big shark”. We are really happy to announce the exceptional participation of Jonas Samuelsson in our IDC. Jonas is also PADI Platinum Course Director and is very famous in the diving community as the Head PADI Course Directors in Ban's Diving and The Koh Tao IDC Group. This diving center is the biggest PADI diving center in the world in terms of certifications.
Jonas will be in Eilat today and will join Serge to bring the candidates to their best for the IE on Sunday. Let’s bet the next water session will be a good one for Tamar, Sivan, Yaara, Michael & Gilad…

The sidemounted gear: a new way to dive

The "sidemounted" BCD is becoming increasingly popular: Its side mounting configuration allows the tanks to be placed on each side of the body instead of the back ("backmounted” configuration). This type of gear has long been preferred for cave diving as one diver can reach tighter space. Today it has become a standard in recreational diving: One has a greater supply of air with 2 tanks. Its structure provides incomparable ease in water, a sensation of lightness and freedom that is not available with a traditional configuration. It also gives a new approach to the buoyancy control because of a more hydrodynamic profile. The "sidemounted" gear is also very comfortable because it is fully adjustable to each individual.
